He developed the groundbreaking FloodBOT project, which combines real-time flood sensing with community collaboration to address urban flood risks. The project garnered significant attention and was featured by NSF and CBS News for its innovative approach to disaster management. Dr. Basnyat leads research initiatives integrating AI/ML frameworks, IoT, and cloud technologies to create end-to-end systems. At NAAMII, he develops generative and agentic AI applications integrated with Physical AI to empower underserved communities and researchers. His work emphasizes explainable, ethical AI with global accessibility, helping individuals from high school students to PhD scholars harness AI's transformative potential.
