Dr. Suman Raj Bista is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Robotics Vision, Queensland University of Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Peter Corke. His research focuses on navigation and recognition capabilities of humanoid robots, working specifically with the Pepper robot from SoftBank Robotics. He completed his PhD in 2016 with the Lagadic Group at INRIA Rennes Bretagne Atlantique, France, under Dr. François Chaumette and Dr. Paolo Robuffo Giordano. His dissertation, "Indoor Navigation of Mobile Robots based on Visual Memory and Image-Based Visual Servoing," established novel approaches for autonomous robot navigation in indoor environments. Dr. Bista holds a Master's in Computer Vision from the University of Burgundy, France (2013) and a Bachelor's in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, IOE, Tribhuvan University, Nepal (2009). His work bridges computer vision, robotics, and optimization to develop intelligent navigation systems.
